Notes
Aligning on "why the hackathon"
Marc: begin doing one reading list today, and define process for tomorrow based on experience today
Rufus: Goal is to ship something. On Saturday people can join through a new reading list or joining a subtask in an existing one. Maybe have someone who can onboard newcomers into the process.
John: What are the constructs involved in generating reading lists? How do people navigate the content? Based on an integral background.
Ameet: two things that interest: the mindmap of Life Itself, and the process of creating it. Biographic style reading lists might be a good way to generate some interesting mix of content and perspectival process.
Matt: outcome should be a collectively felt valuable process, so that it could be reproduced. i) see if process was useful. ii) get into doing something to avoid community dying off. iii) ship something.
Comments about intentions
Rufus: intention of the days need to be clarified. What would give value to research group?
John: the pick of the hackathon was a bit fast, so we should make sure to have some level of collaboration going.
Marc: try and keep individual projects within this framework so that it is more efficient
Rufus: focus possible on "collabathon" style. Context is to have concrete projects going in the research community. (Shared the history of research institute / labs at LI). Research could become more like a movement (Frankfurt School).
Marc: then best could be to have each a concrete project we are working on with a planned first step, and then we continue presenting at meetings
Rufus: summarizes - can bring individual works (Marc), can do reading lists (Rufus...), can bring sensemaking on how to make reading lists (John)
Follow up to #543: this is about prepping and running the hackathon itself.
