Consistent handling of OPI-compliant instrument data #23

Jon wants to examine any issues ingesting data from the emergent Innovasea contribution to the OPI (hands-on should we have that exemplar data in hand by then, theoretical if not)

@aubrivliz invites us to examine existing OPI pipelines in ETN to ensure we are working through them in the same way.

The OP metadata should be accessible for OTN projects. This process should be discussed. OP is still in development and I have still some time to add extra features.

After a brief from Frank Smith at Innovasea, the determination is that OTN data systems won't be affected by their expression of OPI/OPS data, as it will be represented as a codespace, with prefix OPI or OPS as appropriate, and OTN doesn't check prefixes/form of tag codes in such a way that would preclude that from being accepted and ingested normally.

We will monitor this situation as more of the Innovasea-flavoured OPI instrument data is submitted to OTN.
