I will need more information to know what might be going on here; the plugin works correctly in Firefox for me. As in your other reported issue, could you link to or create a publicly-accessible dokuwiki installation that exhibits this? If not, have you customized your mathjax plugin configuration at all?
I've opened the same URL in Chrome, Safari and Firefox. The page contains "$a^2 + b^2 = c^2$" and a "\begin{align*}" block. I didn't change any of the Mathjax options.
The problem in Firefox doesn't actually always appear. I could see a message like 'font could not be loaded' popping up in the Mathjax box.
This could be some sort of transient connection issue, a conflict with some add-on installed in Firefox, or something else on your end. I've never experienced this in Firefox, and if it does sometimes work correctly for you, then it is unlikely to be a bug in the Mathjax plugin itself. I'll leave this open though, in case you can provide more information that might help track down the issue.
With no further report, I'll close this. Let me know if something similar shows up consistently again.
Firefox doesn't render math formulas at all but prints them as plain text. No javascript errors were reported.
