it seems BSV1 has fallen into disrepair in upstream libretro-land? some cores are very inconsistent about it, even purely using RA's built-in BSV support.
design review more than a pull request (it's destined for my dev branch, no worries about hitting merge or anything)
completely untested code, treat it like pseudocode if you like. may update with playback code tomorrow and maybe even test it.
