Rename "master" branch to "main" #2022

In line with the current naming conventions of the open source community writ-large, we're going to rename the "master" branch to "main." Given that our CI/CD automation is broken at the moment (it depended on a now-defunct offering from Travis CI), now is the perfect time to do it.
