Okay, comments - This is the best app I've ever seen for the Android! I'm a
Star Trek geek and a gadget geek, and this is just a fantastic wallpaper.
Please keep up the good work. I'd love to see more interactivity, although I'm
not sure what else you could put on there.
Sorry for the repost, forgot my phone info the first time. Samsung Captivate
running 2.1 update 1.

hehe, thanks for the comments. The issue was actually meant to remind me to
comment the source code... but your interpretation is welcome. :)

Why isn't it on the market?

Download 1.0.2.apk to Toshiba Thrive, opened up file, it showed up in Live
Wallpaper, choose LCARS wallpaper to be wallpaper---result was a row of 2 bars
across top third of screen (landscape mode) with some of bars on right end of
row blinking. No other graphics or anything.
So does this mean this doesn't work on Android tablets?

Not even close to tablet-optimized. Sorry. Heck, it is not even close to
non-Droid optimized. Maybe when I get an upgraded phone, one that can run more
simultaneous apps than SMS and GMail, I'll roll my sleeves up and get this
project going again.

Just posted v1.1.
http://lcarswallpaper.googlecode.com/files/lcarswallpaper_1.1.apk
This should fix a lot of scaling issues to different displays. BUT, landscape
is still plain. No cool stuff. So, if your tablet does not go into portrait
mode, you may be honked. On the other hand, if your tablet does do portrait
mode, let me know how it works.
And, I guess my prediction came true. Got a new phone so had to fix this thing
to work on it!

I have the same issue as Comment 5 on the Motorola Photon. Portrait is fine,
Landscape is borked looking. It is not a huge deal since I rarely use
landscape. I love your work btw. I had the boot screen posted on XDA for a long
time on my EVO. Is there a version of this wallpaper that allows for changes to
be made to the settings? Just curious, not a big deal though. The wallpaper is
amazing the way it is.

I'll be spending some time today looking at different ways to scale and display
the LCARS interface. I'm not particularly good at this stuff, unfortunately.
I'm thinking about first getting the landscape mode to work right. It's a
crime I haven't got that working yet.
Next, I'm exploring a different way to display the interface. Currently, it is
one double-wide wallpaper that scrolls with the home screens. Would it be cool
to have several different LCARS interface panels? One for each home screen
page? Ooh, and maybe provide some settings such that the user can customize
which panel is used for which home screen page?
Don't take any of this mumbling as a commitment. But, feel free to provide
feedback.

Thank you for making this, and for keeping it current.
I'm a Trekkie and i love this for my Droid X. It was bogging the phone down,
since the latest Droid update, but i found the newest version and it's awesome.
Thanks again,
Reuster

Just wondering, could you add a Julian Date calendar and a UTC/Zulu Time clock?
That would be great for a Military guy such as myself. Heck make it with an on
off function?
Just throwing out ideas
Thanks again,
Reuster
