Celebrity Weight & Height --> BMI

Question I'm trying to answer: what does BMI numbers mean in terms of body shape?

• [ ] Find data source. The larger, the more interesting. Ideally I want the data source to contain each celebrity's body figures so I can get an idea (perceptually) what various BMIs mean. I can grab an image from each celebrity's wikipedia profile page, or I can grab a bunch of images by running the query "[name] body" on Google Images.
• [ ] Explore the data set. Visualize in many ways. What's the BMI distribution of Hollywood stars? Males vs Females? Height distributions? Weight distributions? As the stars age, do they tend to get less fit? Any correlation between BMI and income?
• [ ] Interactivity. Query the dataset by gender + height. So that people can find celebrities who are closest to their height. Then they can see an array of celebrities: same height, different weight. This should help people get a good idea about how their own body would look like if they change their weight. This can help people intuitively set their fitness goals (girls who want to look slender and guys who want to build mussles should be interested in this interactivity).
  • Detail: support different metrics: feet and inches, meters and centimeters, lbs, kilograms etc
  • Detail: my date set should not contain only underweight celebrities. I need celebrities of all body types if possible!
• [ ] Fashion & dress protocol for people of different height? of different BMI? Is there a pattern there?
• [ ] Narrate the insights I get. Publish somewhere online.

Engage audience by inviting to search for information that relate to them. Like the Baby NameVoyager example Jeff showed today (e.g. people can't help typing their own names, I guess people also can't help putting in their own height information to see which celebrities have the same height as them).
