@ennru, we need to get this merged and then we can try it out in some samples. I did it locally and it works, but I want to re-run the test with a snapshot release.

A template / sample using the parent is much simplified. Also, the migration guide will be much simpler. Users will need to change the parent pom and remove all the old config.

We should also add such a parent pom for java protobuf. It makes everything much more controlled.

Hmm, let's not merge it yet. Publishing of the new parent pom won't work yet.
