java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Cannot get property EnumProperty{name=axis, clazz=class net.minecraft.core.Direction$Axis, values=[x, y, z]} as it does not exist in Block{northstar:temperature_regulator}. Placing this block completely locks your world unless it is removed via external world editors.

If you have shaders on, disable them and try again, seems to be the problem for me.

What about someone without shaders?
