In this PR below features are implemented,

Selection of a row / column
Deselection of the previous row/column when new row/column is selected

I think the code could be simplified a bit. The selection removal logic could be merged into one method instead of clearing row/column selection individually each time. I pushed the change into a different branch; let me know what you think: 8b5bac7

I think it is very good. Can you merge your commit also to this branch and we can merge the PR afterwards?
