Images save at poor quality on JPEG #554

I noticed the compression on JPEG images is very high. This doesn't appear to be something that is handled by the server side of things... my guess is the lightspeed app re-sizes them and convert before sending them to the server?

If this is the case, please provide the option to control the JPEG compression ratio. The default is too low.

Thanks, -Matt

Hi Matt,

Just a note, product suggestions for Web Store and LightSpeed can now be made at http://ideas.lightspeedretail.com/ where they can be viewed and voted on by our customers.

For this specifically, you can actually change the file format from jpg to png by going to Admin Panel, Configuration and Product Photos. PNG files are going to be larger but higher quality, and this may be satisfactory for you right now. Note you will have to do a Reset Store and Upload since the images are created during the upload process -- therefore you would have to trigger the photos to be uploaded again in this way.

As for a jpeg quality switch, I would highly recommend posting it on ideas for further consideration.

Thanks!
