Description

Here is a few tooling and dependency updates. The individual commit messages should be self-describing.
I successfully tested the demo app on a Pixel 2, Android 10, both offline and online.
Here is the associated JitPack build report.

Once this pull request is merged I would appreciate it if the changes are released as a new version.
