Chromecast wifi connection doesn't reconnect after brief power interruption. #312

We've been having lots of thunderstorms lately and some of my Chromecast
devices (I have 4) won't reconnect after a brief power disruption. Basically we
lose power for such a brief period of time that a lot of devices don't even
notice it, while others do. For example of my 3 PCs only one will reboot. I
know my Uverse modem restarts itself as well as my wireless APs. So after this
happens usually 2 or 3 out of my 4 devices will fail to reconnect to the wifi
network, and they won't every reconnect until I restart them. I don't know if
the Chromecast devices are being restarted during this power loss. If I look at
them on the TV they are working fine except they don't show the wifi network.
The one which works does show it. If I reboot them by pulling the power adapter
then they come back just fine and start showing the wifi network. If I go into
the Chromecast app, it is not able to find the 2 or 3 devices, which is odd
because shouldn't those devices go into configuration mode if they couldn't
connect to wifi?

Can you provide more information on your network setup? What wireless AP's are
you using (make and model)?

I have 3 UniFi APs (http://www.ubnt.com/unifi/unifi-ap/), 2 on the main floor
and 1 on the basement. I get strong signal everywhere I've tested in the house
and the Chromecast works great when connected. The router is just what comes
with ATT Uverse (2wire). The APs are connected to the router via Cat 6 and use
POE.

This is an interesting issue. We are getting some of the UniFi APs and seeing
if we can reproduce.
