Static and snow on screen

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Connect Chromecast to TV
2.Connect power to chromecast
3.Await setup screen or initial Chromecast screen

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect clear picture with no sound
Instead getting alot of snow and static on the screen.  Unusable.

Getting static and snow on TV when Chromecast connected.  No successful 
solution can be found in any discussion groups.   I have attempted all 
suggestions.
- Have tried powering via AC adapter and via USB
- Have tried extension cable to move chromecast unit away from TV
- Have tried horizontal and vertical HDMI ports
- Have tried cycling through all the input ports on the TV
- Have tried updating the software on the chromecast
- Confirmed that this Chromecast unit works on a different TV
- Confirmed that HDMI port on TV works with other devices
Nothing seems to work and I continue to get snow and static when Chromecast is 
connected (regardless of whether casting or not)

Same issue here. Tried all the steps mentioned above, but no avail.
What amazes me is the "old style analog" static that is shown on the screen. I 
haven't seen static in the digital realm... here it is back again.
