Virtual Box does not save changes #47

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

Using Win 7 home premium x64 (8Gb RAM) Virtual box installs OK and the TAMT
appliance runs OK.
You can create new documents on the desktop etc.
When you select "Shut down" on the TAMT "power button" top right, the appliance
and Virtual box shut down OK. However, when you restart all changes have been
lost.
The new document created in gedit on the desktop is no longer there.
Same happens when you select "Machine / close / Power off the machine" top left

I have:
1) Reinstalled Virtual Box
2) Reinstalled using the latest version of Virtual box (3.2.10r66523)
3) Reinstalled latest Virtual Box with administrator privilages
4) Reinstalled latest Virtual Box with administrator privilages and with
Kaspersky disabled
And the problem continues with no change.

I have just installed VirtualBox on my MacBook Pro and got the same problem.
I created a document on the desktop and a zone in TAMT, shut down the appliance
and the machine. Restarted both and neither the document or the zone where
visible.
So... the problem would appear not to be related to Win permissions!

Yesterday, I created a new appliance in VirtualBox using Ubuntu 10.10 and a
fixed disc size - and it works as expected. Any changes made in one session are
still there after restarting VirtualBox (and the new appliance. During the
whole process, I did not get any Windows security block or question, or from
Kaspersky either. The only problem I found that is completely unrelated to this
was that Ubuntu came up with a max screen resolution of 800x600. Any ideas
where to get the drivers or whatever for a 1440x900 screen?
