Subtitles often not recognized #168

Many times subtitle files won't be recognized in Movist although they work
perfectly fine with VLC,
Perian (Quicktime) or Plex. Now that wouldn't be an issue if Movist wasn't my
video player of choice
;)

I've attached an example srt file that won't work in Movist.

I think the problem coming from the fact that Movist doesnt have the auto
encoding detector for the subtitle. If
the encoder of the subtitle is something different from what Movist is set in
the preferences, it will ignore it.

I've faced the same problem

hope that Movist team will implement this small feature soon to make Movist the
completely great video player.

I've seen the same issue - VLC recognizes the srt, but not Movist. Unfortunate,
because Movist is better.

For anyone seeing this issue, here's a workaround which was suggested by
joony.july in a separate bug report, which worked for me:

1.open the subtitle file using TEXTEDIT
2.Save as
3.Select Encoding -> Western (Mac OS Roman)

Save, and go play your video.

Movist do not see UTF subtitles unless the Text Encoding is set to Unicode
(UTF-8) in Preferences > Subtitle.
