MKV with subtitles does not display properly #222

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a MKV file with subtittle track
2. Subtittles font and size are totally wrong
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Fontsize and style should be the same as the one used by the original creators
of the file. Here's a comparison of what it should be:

Movist (bad)

QuickTime X (good)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

0.6.8 on Snow Leopard 10.6.5

Please provide any additional information below.

Maybe if I install the fonts I might get a better output...

So, I have the same problem, and have some clarifying info on it:

The issue is that Movist is rendering subtitles according to its own
preferences file, changing the font, color, size, etc. (Why is the default like
that? IDK) But, I like being able to watch a show in the subtitle font the
encoder chose for it, and I can't figure out any way to do this.

I have the same problem, I think that movist need to respect the fonts settings
of the mkv's like vlc, mplayer x or quicktime

The original developer has stopped developing this version and the new one can
be found here: http://cocoable.tistory.com/

Currently not even version 1,3.8 offers SSA support.
