Why can't i raise the qpmax higher than 69?

trying to make it go to 81 so i can encode with the same settings from a 
specific file but it won't go higher, only lower.

I even tried editing it in the CLI tab but after encoding its still at 69.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

You can't go higher than this values (everything else will be rounded down by 
x264):
qpmax 81 - for x264 10bit
qpmax 69 - for x264 8bit

ah i see, yeah the file i was looking at that had 81 was 10 bit i was trying to 
copy it.

btw did you stop developing this or just move to a different site?

I can't say stopped it or not, but currently there is no active development 
from me. Who knows what will be tomorrow..
