Thanks for the awesome tools and your suggestions on biostar and other platforms.

is there a tool already exists (in your repository) to calculate mean target coverage on a bam file? need something similar to bamstats04 but generates aggregate output?

no, use the standard tools like GATK DepthOfCoverage please.
