How do I Un-Hack to go back to AT&T?

Hello all and thanks in advance for your help.  

Here's my situation.  My ex-boyfriend unlocked my iPhone using 
iNdependence and jailbreak.  I never actually added any apps to the phone 
and never attempted to upgrade it.  

My iPhone is week 34 (if that matters) and the firmware that is currently 
on there is 1.0.2(1C28) <- I don't know what the numbers in parenthesis 
means.  

Now, when he hacked the phone, he changed the code to dis-able the edge 
network (I do not have any internet on this phone - but can use WiFi), but 
I am pretty sure that he made a copy of the original code.  

When he hacked it, we were in contract with an authorized AT&T dealer that 
did not support the iPhone, so I have an AT&T sim.  Now that we have 
split, I have new service with 'real' AT&T and a brand new sim card.  

My question is:  What do i need to do to get my iPhone to work like new 
with AT&T?  Please help...I am scared to do this on my own!

You should be able to turn the phone off, hold down the Home button and plug it 
in,
while holding the home button; iTunes will ask you if you want to restore, say 
yes
and update to the 1.1.3 firmware, which iTunes will download. Good luck
