Satisfy clippy 1.66 #544

This PR addresses the following clippy lints:

manual_clamp
needless_borrow
unnecessary_cast

I also updated the Cairo snapshots (piet-snapshots#31) because it seems the CI upgraded from Ubuntu 20.04 to 22.04 and now the text layout is slightly different.
