The sidebar sometimes disappears #1

Clicking the sidebar links makes it to disappears sometimes. I know that is not final but maybe you didn't notice it yet (or is just my lovely browser (chrome)).

It is a rendering issue but not sure what causes it.

@kbaribeau captured a screenshot of this, so far I can only replicate this in Chrome (Safari, FF, IE are fine) so I'm going to try and fix it while also taking the opportunity to chalk this up to "chrome being chrome", which sadly is becoming more common in a post-webkit-fork-to-blink world :(
