Maybe we can start listing cases: does this include "circa" dates?
Potential use cases:

Potential use cases:
- question marks in dates
- question marks in nationality
- questions of precision where ISO date is required but only year is known
- attribution to a workshop rather than an artist herself
- possible attribution to anonymous artists ?? not sure this is a good fit but we could discuss — You are receiving this because you are subscribed to this thread. There's now "possibly": http://vocab.getty.edu/aat/300435722
Which would be appropriate to use as the classification of an AttributeAssignment
. That said, this pattern is very verbose and we should be careful that we don't turn everything into an attribute assignment. We've avoided going into detail on uncertainty, I think we should continue to be very restrained in our meta-meta-data.
At SARI we do have selected and created set of attributes for defining five type of issues with our information:
We did kept it simply in order to flag the type of ambiguity problems in our data, specifying if something is unknown, not certain or not precise. We do use it as a type and the vocabulary are present here:
https://github.com/swiss-art-research-net/vocab/blob/master/uncertainty/uncertainty.ttl
Example in the slide below, where we defined the time as imprecise and added the "circa" as rdfs:label
To allow for recording confidence in statements, we should create an ambiguity note and ask for a term in AAT to represent it.
