Modelling of organizations

The initial proposal has three distinct subclasses of StatisticalOrganization: NationalStatisticalInstitute, OtherNationalAuthority and InternationalAgency.

Luca makes the following observations:

• In the context of the ESS, « Other National Authority » has a very precise signification and its reuse in the context of COOS could bring confusion since non-European organization could use it in a different way.

• So there are two solutions:

  • Find a new name to replace the term currently proposed.
  • Only define two classes of « Statistical Organisation »: « International Agency » et « National Statistical Institute ». The ONAs would the simply be direct instances of « Statistical Organisation ».
