SKOS file for collection of CVs #9

A SKOS file describing and enumerating the CVs could make sense. Proposed URI: http://rdf-vocabulary.ddialliance.org/DDICV#

There is an example with some SKOS files at the EU. I'll look into it.

Done. With skos:collection and skos:member. Is there something like memberOf by which a CV could point back to the collection? See: DDICV.ttl

No, there isn't. But when all CVs provided together (and I assume this will be the case), it shouldn't be a problem to get the point back to the collection, since you have all RDF statements for querying available.

I’m not sure what that means: “all CVs provided together”.

I provided draft files in the directory SummaryStatisticsType according to the structure I’m thinking off. See: DDICV.rdf, SummaryStatisticsType.rdf, SummaryStatisticsType_1.0.ttl. The last two files would be available for each CV.

What I meant with “all CVs provided together” was: Since all CVs of DDI are finalized and ready-to-use (correct me if I'm wrong), we could think about providing them in SKOS format together in a triple store so that users just have to link to particular concepts of a CV without having to store the entire CV by themselves. This way the DDI SKOS CVs would be provided at one single place for all users.

Does this makes sense?

Reference from member to collection not possible. Workaround would be dc:isPartOf. Current decision not to use it because it is not common in respect to SKOS.

All files will be provided in a zip file, comprehending collection, version-independent file, and versioned files for each CV. See files in https://github.com/linked-statistics/DDI-controlled-vocabularies/tree/master/SummaryStatisticsType
