Part of our Wiki needs to have a generic discussion around what Scala is:

what are various parts of the syntax?
what do the underscore signs mean?
etc. etc.

Could this be baked right into a notebook - an "Introduction to Scala" notebook using the Spark notebook.

I've taken a first kick at the can with:

It's quite rough and probably betrays some fundamental ignorance around what's going on. As it mostly comes from talking through these scripts with @jrwiebe and @aliceranzhou, their thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Once I have a free moment, I'm planning to take a Scala CodeAcademy/read the O'Reilly book.

@lintool did a great job of this in the Archives Unleashed Day One events. Maybe upload the slides as a lesson in our documentation?

@lintool, do you have an up-to-date version of those Scala slides? Even a link from the docs would be helpful to newbies I think.
