Put the wifi card into the host sleep mode again while the device is suspended. Now that the firmware crashes are fixed, this should no longer prevent the device from waking up.
This needs more testing on other devices, but on my Surface Pro 5 (2017) I have this patch applied since last November and since then the device has never failed to wake up from suspend.
