Fedora Blackscreen on Install #1387

Hey, I'm trying to install Fedora 38 on my Surface Pro 8 with UEFI 25.100.143.0, so I created a USB Device with the Fedora Media Creator, Rufus and Ventoy. All 3 let me stuck after I [Enter] on Start Fedora. All I see is a blackscreen with a static cursor (_). Also waited like 30+ mins but no chance.

Same deal here but with a Surface Pro 5. I tried Fedora 38, 39, and 40. Live USB freezes at _ .

I've found out that this is probably related to the firmware version of the surface. Many suggests downgrading, but I dont know to which version and where to get it from..

Same here with a Surface 7 pro i7, trying to install Fedora 39

Update: Nobara 39 works.

see https://github.com/linux-surface/linux-surface/issues/1162 ... at the end you have the way to solve. I didn't get it booting in Secure Boot either, but at least it starts to boot without secureboot.

I already had secure boot disabled. I just installed Ubuntu way back and I'm happy with it since.
