Hi! I have installed debian on my surface pro 5 once but I forgot how I've managed to get the network drivers working. I don't know how to follow installation from "this repo"(I'm refering to the ways of installation in the wiki) and I don't think I can compile from source because I'd mess something up and I don't have the packages, because I don't have the internet.

When I use lspci I have my Marvel 88W8897 but I don't see it in ifconfig. When I plug ethernet to docking station I don't get anything and ifconfig gives me only loopback. I have also tried external wifi adapter and it also didn't work. I'm asking if there is a way to easily install network drivers(I was looking for 7 hours so please help if you know how) or if I can install kernel without the internet and get the drivers from it.

Ps: if you want the dmesg just tell me how to include it nicely, I don't want to make the issue 400 lines long. and about the drivers I think I have mwifiex_pcie but I don't think they are working, the network manager seems fine but in settings I don't see wifi adapter nor I can get internet from the ethernet cable

What Debian do You have installed? Newest release? Which desktop environment? I fear that the standard kernel has its problem with Surface devices. Maybe a test with an up-to-date Live-ISO Ubuntu has more success

Sorry for taking so long to reply, I installed a bit older version and it probably had some problems with the network adapter.

I solved this issue by:
