Deepin automatically set to "Duplicate" for dual monitor setup and cannot extend monitors #2768

GFX: Nvidia 2070S (nvidia installed) Version: deepin-desktop-base-manjaro 2:2021.06.16-1

When starting Deepin Desktop on either Arch or Manjaro Linux we get both monitors displaying the same thing, if I right click and go to "Display Settings" I cannot change mode from duplicate

Workaround: Open nvidia settings & change the config in the menu “X Server Display Configuration”

However the workaround doesn't save and it will reset to "Duplicate" on next boot. Any idea why we cannot extend the monitors from Display Settings?

Here's some photos, first one is where it's set "wrongly" by default and won't let me change it from the regular settings so I need to open "nvidia-settings"

This one is after I change it

I have the same issue with integrated Intel video. So The above mentioned workaround does not work for me. It's a showstopper to using this so if anyone has any suggestion on a workaround that would be nice.

I am still facing the same or a similar problem on Deepin 23 with the 6.9 kernel, Nvidia 2070 graphics card, and a Dell 5k display. I can set the display mode to "Extend", but that messes up the screen resolution for half the display. The Dell UP2715k consists of two TTF panels in one display frame, connected to the graphics card using two display port cables.

Here is what the screen looks like when I switch from mirror to extend. The left display is set to a much smaller resolution, and it's not even rendered. Screenshot_select-area_20240911093012

I can use the nvidia-settings tool to fix the configuration, but will end up with the original setup after each reboot or login. Here is the screenshot of the fixed setup with the nvidia-settings app. Screenshot_select-area_20240911092016

While the window system now behaves like a single screen, the desktop backgrounds are still treated as separate screens.
