Deepin Screenshot 5.0.0 save/copy-to-clipboard bug on Ubuntu systems #3481

SUMMARY | 问题概要

Deepin Screenshot 5.0.0 works as expected until you try to save the screenshot or copy it to your clipboard, when it fails to do either and the image is not saved at all.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE | 复现步骤

  1. Open Deepin Screenshot 5.0.0 on your Ubuntu system
  2. Take a screenshot
  3. Try to save the screenshot or copy to your clipboard.

OBSERVED RESULT | 观察到的结果

The screenshot does not get saved or copied to clipboard.

EXPECTED RESULT | 期望的结果

The screenshot gets saved to whichever location or is copied to the clipboard.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS | 软件/系统版本信息

Distribution: Zorin OS 16.2 Package: deepin-screenshot 5.0.0 Notes: The same bug has been reported by users of other distros as well.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION | 额外补充

To temporarily workaround this bug, I installed deepin-screenshot 4.0.11 from here and Deepin Screenshot now works as expected.

The same bug has been reported by users of other distros as well.

I cannot reproduce this issue under Arch Linux with DDE as desktop environment, but can reproduce this under Arch Linux with KDE as desktop environment. Might be a porting issue, I guess.

Thanks for your feedback, questions about the use of the deepin software on other systems may be delayed. This issue will be recorded first and we will resolve it step by step.

Here is some additional information. I hope it will be useful for you to fix the BUG.

Distro: Arch Linux with KDE plasma package: deepin-screen-recorder 5.11.12-4

The screen recording works fine. But when taking screenshots, it is stuck for nearly one minute, in the meantime, the taskbar of KDE plasma also gets stuck. Then the system returns to normal, but the screenshot is not saved either as a file or in the clipboard. Here is the log: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/seekstar/pastebin/main/1/1
