Issue/Freature Request

  1. [x] Windows > Titlebar(Tab) > Buttons layout is missing options Left with menu and Right with menu as such causing incompatibility with themes like Yaru. (linuxmint/cinnamon#10538)

  2. [x] Preferred Applications can be categorized/Sectioned Into System, Internet, Multimedia and Office as in Mate to make it more user-friendly. Update: I have modified the preferred applications as the following figure. Would it be useful? Then I would create a PR. default

  3. [ ] Notifications look really bland. Some basic theming can be done like Mate DE. This may be used as reference.

@clefebvre I have modified the Preferred Applications by adding sections. The corresponding screenshot is given above. Do you think it will be useful?

Also this might not be related to particularly cinnamon, but rather for others as well. I would suggest activating discussions section in the github repo itself. So that anyone can have a discussion before any enhancement or bug they plan to work on.
