Bug description
Not able to create a connection to a hidden network through a usb dongle.
The dongle works fine. I have both a pci wifi and a usb dongle. When I select the dongle as the device for the connection, two seconds later the UI panes disappear and a core dump is reported in the system log. If the pci wifi card is chosen as the device I can successfully create a 'hidden connection' (but cannot use as my 'hidden SSID' is 5ghz and the pci wifi is only a 'g' radio).
Attached is the relevant data from /var/log/kern.log
Don't know if this is a mint/cinnamon issue or if it belongs to ubuntu.
Steps to reproduce
See 'additional information' for the environment.
Expected behavior
Allow you to continue to select the parameters for a Hidden Connection.
Additional information
This core dump problem exists in the M21 beta (k5.15.0-39, cinn 5.4.2, vanessa) thru M21.3 (k5.15.0-100, cinn 6.0.4, vanessa).
This problem does NOT exist in M19.3 (k5.15.0-34, cinn 5.4.2) OR in M20.3 (k5.4.0-91, una).
The UI for 'Connect to hidden network' is visually different in M19.3. The UI appears to be the same in M20.3 thru M21.3.
This problem DOES NOT appear to be specifically related to a usb dongle (mine is a linksys wusb600n).
For whatever reason, the M21 beta release, in the 'Con hid net' UI, shows my usb dongle to be the default device to set up.
The other releases I have tried have the generic pci wifi card as default.
Using the M21 beta, the fault/ core dump happens when I select the pci wifi as the device to 'Con hid net'.
So the fault/ core dump appears to occur when a non-default wifi device is selected in 'Con hid net'.
Which implies the need for 2 or more wifi devices installed in a machine for the fault to occur.
