Issue I just upgraded to Linux Mint v21.2 and Cinnamon v5.8. Once that happened, the nice colour icons in the weather app pop-up are gone. Now it is just boring white icons

Steps to reproduce

Expected behaviour

I expect to see the colour icons that were there before for weather, not just the boring plain white ones.

There are options in the applet settings Other Options->Icons section. Make sure all of them are off. If you still don't have colored icons then you should use a different icon set on your system.

Attila, thank you for the quick reply. Yes I tried that but in the past I think I needed to have the Custom icons on to get coloured ones. I could be wrong and not remembering correctly. In any event I turned them all off but nothing changed. The only difference is solid or outline white icons. I have made no other changes "except" the upgrade to v21.1. So did that update blow away the coloured icon set? If so, how do I add the missing coloured icon set? Thank you.

If you want color weather icons I think you could try to add "gnome-colors" and "tango-icon-theme-extras" in your package manager, then go to System settings, Themes, Icons and try the "gnome-*" and "Tango" and check how it looks in the applet. Works in LM 21.1 for me and hope it works for you. You could also experiment with your local ".icons" directory and manually add downloaded icon sets that will be choose-able in Theme-settings. I have added some icons sets but unfortunately do not have much knowledge in how to adjust or customize them.

As jorgenqv said you need to install and set a different iconset for yourself, it should be possible to download the old iconset you had on the previous version if you know it's name. I'm not sure what is the default one Ubuntu for the previous versions, the current one is Yaru I think.
