Daily chron mlocate locking up computer #10000

 * Distribution - (Mint 17.2, Arch, Fedora 25, etc...)

Mint 20.1 all the latest kernels

 * Graphics hardware *and* driver used

lenovo laptop g580 cpu graphics i5

 * 32 or 64 bit

64 bit

 * Attach ~/.xsession-errors, or /var/log/syslog

Issue

Laptop locking up every 24 hours. After removing (chron) mlocate system no longer locks up. Either mlocate itself OR chrons are making laptop lock up

@wutsinterweb can you provide steps to reproduce this issue? Thanks.

No steps involved. Simply having booted the laptop and running it and using my browser or whatever, after approximately 24 hours, it would lock up. Since I've removed mlocate it doesn't lock up. The only special program on the laptop not in the list in Mint is Viber.
