In my case it was a hardware problem. My CPU is ok when use headset, but use 100% when not using headset. I had this problem only in Cinnamon, others DE work without problems.

Configuration info, if applicable If this bug report is related to an Applet, Desklet or Extension, please paste (or use a pastebin service) the offending extension's settings, if it has any. You can obtain this by opening its configuration, clicking the 'hamburger' button in the upper-right corner of the window, and selecting "Export to a file". Please be sure to review the contents and remove any personal data it may contain.
I search Linux Mint Form, but no constructed answers. Using Htop, I find --replace taking over 90% of the CPU and sometimes 100%. If I kill --replace, the laptop goes back to normal and the CUP drops below 5%. Problems after the kill, the window background is gone (no big loss), but the task bar is gone and when I click on Home folder, the top part of the window is missing where you can close (‘x’) the window.
