 * Cinnamon version (cinnamon --version) : 4.8.6
   - Please specify if you are using the daily builds PPA No
     (https://launchpad.net/~linuxmint-daily-build-team/+archive/ubuntu/daily-builds).
 * Distribution - (Mint 17.2, Arch, Fedora 25, etc...): Debian 11 (bullseye)
 * Graphics hardware *and* driver used
 * 32 or 64 bit : 64
 * Attach ~/.xsession-errors, or /var/log/syslog

Issue Cinnamon Main Menu does not list applications from /var/lib/snapd/desktop installed by snapd. The applications show up in Gnome, and XDG_DATA_DIRS includes var/lib/snapd/desktop.

Steps to reproduce Install snap, installed apps would not be visible even after a reboot.

Expected behaviour Should display the apps listed in var/lib/snapd/desktop/applications.

what is your default shell? @lokeb

lokeb commented 2 years ago

No problem. It's an issue with lightdm which is not loading /etc/profile.
