 * Cinnamon version (cinnamon --version): 5.6.8
   - Please specify if you are using the daily builds PPA: N/A
     (https://launchpad.net/~linuxmint-daily-build-team/+archive/ubuntu/daily-builds).
 * Distribution - (Mint 21, Arch, Fedora 37, etc...): Mint 21.1 Vera
 * Graphics hardware *and* driver used: Intel HD Graphics 620
 * 32 or 64 bit: 64 Bit
 * Attach ~/.xsession-errors, or /var/log/syslog

Issue

When my laptop was being used on battery then goes to suspend, either manually or by the set timers, it will not resume from suspend when I attach it to my docking station. I have to open the lid to get the system to resume. It did not do this on Windows or (if I recall correctly) Fedora 37. My BIOS/UEFI is set to resume on AC power.

If I am using it on the dock and it goes to suspend, it will resume if I tap the keyboard or mouse.

Steps to reproduce

Manually suspended it and re-connected the docking station. Issue persists with the Perform lid-closed action even with external monitors attached toggle both on and off.

Expected behaviour

Wake up/resume from suspend and resume normal use upon connecting USB-C docking station with 2x monitors, keyboard and mouse.

Other information

Apologies if this has been reported elsewhere.

Just for grins, I tried with the original AC adapter that came with this laptop, as opposed to a docking station and the result is the same. The LED on the ThinkPad logo will flash 3 times but the system will never resume.

Just for additional grins I timed it out the events. At 22:33:00 I hit the suspend button.
