cinnamon-menu-editor cut button does not function as expected #11998

Open hopelessdecoy opened 10 months ago

hopelessdecoy commented 10 months ago

If you go into the cinnamon-menu-editor program to modify your launch menu and cut an application into another category it will seem to work (the cut icon disappears in original category and pastes into the new one) but going back to the old category it will have reappeared. The expected behavior is that the application will be moved not copied.

You should report to https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon-menus/issues instead. This repository is for the menu in MATE desktop.

Does 'delete' work to get rid of it permanently? (the original entry)

It permanently deletes both the "copy" and the original. Also moving this to Cinnamon as suggested.

It already was, I transferred it

Another to add to this—if you press the cut button when you've highlighted an item (e.g. Xojo in your screenshot) but then close the window without hitting paste, the listed application will be complete missing from Mint's equivalent of the Windows Start Menu even if you re-open the "Edit Items" as Mint 22 calls it (though this specific issue has existed since at least Mint 21.1).
