Bug description

I get suddenly logged out after a little while when I try to browse (scroll) upwards with the middle mouse button (wheel), the fonts list in the System Settings - Font Selection - Default font option.

Steps to reproduce

Go to the Main menu and open the System Settings and there click the Fonts Selection option from the Appearance section, now you should see two sections: Font Selection and Font Settings. In the Font Selection section choose the Default font option and click on the Ubuntu Regular font button. A small window should open with a list of fonts.

Now from the highlighted Ubuntu Regular font, slowly scroll up with your mouse wheel till you reach the Symbola Bold font. Then stop. If you choose to scroll further up you get, suddenly, logged out. Don't be scared, you can log back in and confidently continue your exciting Linux Mint adventure like nothing (really) ever happened.

Expected behavior

Just scroll the fonts with the mouse and don't get suddenly kicked (logged) out.

I wonder what is the connection between the two separate and apparently not related features, one involving the fonts browsing and the other involving the logout feature. Screenshot from 2024-01-30 12-07-18 Screenshot from 2024-01-30 12-37-00

It seems that each time the Pick a font window is involved the spooky thing happens.

I was using an applet from the System Settings - Applets called Settings API Demo that has a Change font feature (option) which triggers the above mentioned Pick a font window. The nasty logout happens again when I try to browse the fonts by the mouse scrolling. I guess there IS a ghost in the machine after all.

The bad part is when you have unsaved things and you are suddenly logged out. All your unsaved work will be gone.
