applets update error #2057

very very good development. I install cinnamon 1.8 and nemo 1.8.1 on my LM13 64 bit system. It works fine.

Only a small problem —————————————- when I try to update a applet it shows that

An error occurred during installation or updating. You may wish to report this incident to the developer of timer-notifications@markbokil.com.

If this was an update, the previous installation is unchanged

Details: [Errno 13] Permission denied: ‘/home/sujit/.local/share/cinnamon/applets/timer-notifications@markbokil.com’ ——————————————————————————————– another case

An error occurred during installation or updating. You may wish to report this incident to the developer of netspeed@adec.

If this was an update, the previous installation is unchanged

Details: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: ‘/tmp/tmpDyWlya/metadata.json’ ————————————————————————————————— same thing happens with other applets update.

is there any solution thx

I encounter the same problems with different extensions and applets. I'm running on Linux Mint 15 Cinnamon 64 bit. This happens also after I tried to install Cinnadock by copying the files to ~/.local/share/cinnamon/extensions. It doesn't work and the the extensions app suggests upgrading the extension. When I try to upgrade it gives me the error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/tmp/xxxx/metadata.json' (where xxxx varies).

These are all cases where the developer needs to update his applet, extension or desklet to operate with the new system. These are not issues with Cinnamon itself.

That link provides all the information they need to play nicely with cinnamon - if you want to give feedback to the developer of the extension in question.
