-1 for this useless feature.
I don't personally support this as I think it wouldn't benefit the majority of people, but be more of a novelty. Otherwise, please keep up with the fun ideas, and allow your enthusiasm to continue in this community :)
@mikey12345 you sure not going to see your monitor in all times with glasses, or you will lose your vision soon. Cinnamon it's a desktop build in with Gnome technology (see this is not GNome Shell), also it's not a complete OS. And do not produce an API with development tools. Also can not force programmers to be use this API, if Cinnamon could be able to change the programing paradigm, and create a new way to display applications. At the end, you can not expected a thing like that soon, less in linux... So please get out your glasses, they are affecting you.
Oh I have used them for a long time, I have had my wallpaper 3d since Ubuntu 11.04, and I can still see fine. And you can use Stereoscopic 3d using Compiz, but I don't like Compiz, it turns my C2D laptop into a jet(fans running).

Yes, but the current comercial tecnology for 3D produce damages... http://www.eyedoctorguide.com/eye_care/3d_tv_movies_eye_health.html Also there is not difficult create a 3D rustic effect, but has not sense if only produce damages and you can not gain anything... This is good for a while, is fun, not more.
Sorry, I just don't see this one happening.
I would like a 3D mode that using 3D glasses would make all of the software look like it is in real life(Start menu poping out, Windows stacked on each other, etc), that combined with multitouch would put Cinnamon(and Linux) into the 22nd century!
