Possible Cinnamon bug

When I login using Cinnamon (and this only occurs with Cinnamon) some applications (e.g. Inkscape and Google Earth) create popups that persist, can't be moved and appear on all desktops, on top of any program I am using. See this picture, which I uploaded ( http://forums.linuxmint.com/download/file.php?id=9773 ). This behaviour does not occur when using Mate or Gnome or even Cairo Dock alone; only with Cinnamon. The popups are removed when I close the program that creates the popup.

It is most annoying. I suspect it is a bug, since the noted applications work when I do not login with Cinnamon but, instead, using a different desktop environment.

I am using, if it matters, Mint 12. My machine is home made: an I5 processor on a gigabit Z68 type motherboard, Nvidia GeForce GTX 550Ti graphics card and 8 gb memory.

It occurs only in Cinnamon, so far as I have seen. It did not occur in Gnome Shell.

One interesting thing I tried - and my terminology might not be correct in this instance, so bear with me. I started Google Earth in Cinnamon immediately after bringing my mouse to the top left hand corner of the desktop. I did not restore an ordinary desktop until after Earth had fully loaded. When I do that, there is no popup.

Another point, I logged out of Cinnamon, uninstalled/purged it while in Mate (I also updated apt), reinstalled Cinnamon, logged back in. The first start up of Earth, the problem ended. The second start, the problem returned. I do not know if that helps but, either way, I wanted you to know what I had done.

With Inkscape, I do not think the problem is helped as it does not occur on startup of the program but only if I use an extension or a filter.

The issue is indeed the same one as #309 and #340. The problem occurs with dialogs appearing for a very short time.

One thing is to note is that I haven't experienced (or been able to reproduce) this bug since I switched to precise, which leads me to think that this may not actually be a bug in Cinnamon itself (or even in muffin). Would be great if anyone else could confirm.

Also happens with Snapfish. The "save" dialog does not close properly when there was nothing to be saved - instead it turns into a small grey window just like the one Google Earth opens. Edit. The Snapfish problem is also similar to #340.
