Pinned windows don't appear as running in Group Window List #8254

 * Cinnamon version: 4.0.8
 * Distribution - Mint 19.1
 * Intel CPU and GPU
 * 64 bit

Issue I have multiple Group Window List panels, one for each monitor (3 monitors) with separate pinned applications on each of the panels. When starting all 3 pinned applications on one of my monitor the applications don't show as running (I have the panel configured to show the app name when running) even though they are.

Steps to reproduce Pin 3+ applications to an instance of Group Window List. Configure Group Window List to show Application Name or Window Title as the button label. Configure Launcher animation to Scale Start all 3 applications.

Expected behaviour All 3 applications should have their Window Title showing, but not all of them do, even though all applications are running.

Hmm, on Monitor 1 I have only Slack showing as running (Window Title appears). On Monitor 2 I have both Slack and YakYak showing as running. On Monitor 3 and 4 I have all 3 pinned applications (Slack, YakYak and Skype) showing as running (Window Title appears).

Can you provide your settings files for GWL (cat ~/.cinnamon/configs/grouped-window-list@cinnamon.org/*.json)? Thanks.

Hi. Running Cinnamon 4 in Mint 19.1 and have a similar issue. I use a second monitor (via HDMI port an a laptop) with the panel just on the main (laptop) window. I also have multiple (4) workspaces active. Active applications are usually but not always flagged as active(blue bar underneath) when running in other workspaces. I find spotify and libre office applications suffer from this the most. Restarting CInnamon (CTRL-ALT-ESC) will re-capture the active apps but the problem will recurr over time.
