Is there a way to set video quality/bandwith?

I've got limited internet here - in terms of connection speed and monthly quota...

Is there a way to decrease standard (obviously very high) video quality in Hypnotix?

Go to Settings - mpv options and try

hwdec=no hls-bitrate=5000

Try different values for hls-bitrate until you are satisfied.

Thanks for your kind help! I looked into it a bit further and following your suggestion (and finding it in the manual) I tried with hwdec=no hls-bitrate=min to be as safe as possible.

Unfortunately this doesn't really help: The TV channels I tried obviously have "hardcoded" links to the high(est) quality streams - e.g. for the German channel "3sat" this URL is used: https://zdf-hls-18.akamaized.net/hls/live/2016501/dach/veryhigh/master.m3u8 ... and that is always (I guess) going to be the "very high" quality...

One would have to alter it to e.g. https://zdf-hls-18.akamaized.net/hls/live/2016501/dach/low/master.m3u8 to effectively alter the stream's quality... Or is this assumption wrong?

So I don't know if this can really be achieved within Hypnotix at all...?

Anyways a quality setting would be very handy, most probably not only for me...?

I have a list for German TV in SD, maybe it helps.

Save it to a m3u file and add it in hypnotix.
