Onscreen-keyboard “Onboard” does not work in any case #326

Onscreen-keyboard “Onboard” does not work in Cinnamon Menu applet. if you want to type anything with Onboard in the menu, e.g. looking for an application, the menu disappears with the first click in Onboard. This happens at least since LM 17 until LM 20. Actually I mainly use 19.3 with Cinnamon 4.4.8 and can describe the behaviour in this version further: If the selected letter is above an application in the menu, this app opens. This behaviour is also in the windows-bar if you click a button in Onboard above an app. In Mate and my preferred KDE-Desktop* (I don't know what to do after 18.3) Onboard works fine.

In very few cases Onboard doesn't open, if a password-input is requested. If it's already open, you can type the password. But as I've wrote, this happens very seldom and even in KDE.

*I love the functions of Dolphin (especially selecting different files without pressing Ctrl, but renaming in Nemo is a little bit better), Kate and Okular.

Edited your issue to make clear you're not talking about Mint-Menu (the MATE menu applet) but about the Cinnamon Menu applet. Please add which version of Linux Mint Cinnamon you're using.

Thank you for the hint with Cinnamon Menu applet. Didn't know the correct expression.
