vmware-ui-19304.log Attached is the relevant log file for the time I tried the multi-monitor
vmware-dxxx.zip Here are all the logs for VMWare Workstation on the host
Ive experienced the same issue with 17.5.2 with linux mint, kali, and debian VMs. All of the VM's I've tested have had their kernel upgraded to 6.* and they all have the same multi-monitor issue.
I am experiencing an issue with VMware Workstation 17.5.2 on Linux Mint running kernel version 5.15.0-116.126. The multi-monitor feature fails to cycle through monitors and often reverts to a single monitor setup.
Environment:
Linux Mint Version: [Your Linux Mint Version] Kernel Version: 5.15.0-116.126 VMware Workstation Version: 17.5.2 Host OS: Windows 10 Pro Guest OS: Linux Mint 21.3 (Virginia) latest upgrades
Steps to Reproduce:
Start VMware Workstation 17.5.2. Power on the Linux Mint virtual machine. Attempt to use the multi-monitor feature by clicking the Cycle Multiple Monitors button. Expected Result: The virtual machine should cycle through the available monitors without issues.
Actual Result: The virtual machine either fails to cycle through the monitors or reverts to a single monitor setup. The VM display will turn black and never recover.
If I revert the kernel back to the previous one, everything woks as expected again
