Slight Panel height increase 27px -> 32px improves visual appearance due extra padding, subtly improves icon and text vertical alignment. Panel sizes divisible by 4 seem to offer the highest quality icon scaling.

In the last few years, panel / taskbar heights have steadily increased, no doubt due to adoption of higher resolution displays, for example...

Kubuntu default panel height 36px Windows 7 default taskbar height 48px / while using small icons 34px Windows 10 default taskbar height 50px / while using small icons 38px

Further comparison Mint 18.1 Xfce default panel height 32px

For those with older systems, or lower resolution displays, enabling use customised panel size reduces the size to 25px by default.

Window list item (active indicator) size increased 2px -> 3px, tiny change helpful for screens with uneven bezels, and more noticeable while using higher resolution displays.

I appreciate the interest but I don't like this at all. I don't want a panel that big.

Also, when modifying the theme, you need to modify the relevant sass files. The css files are generated from those and overwritten and build time. It states this in the README
