Systray icons problems #79

Open LinuxOnTheDesktop opened 5 years ago

LinuxOnTheDesktop commented 5 years ago

Describe the bug The try icons of some programs - at least: KeePassXC; CopyQ - are wrong in that they are insufficiently passed. This makes them look bad. It reduces functionality too. For, it means that, if one opens a tray menu and keeps the pointer's vertical position at the icon's position, then, by accidentally moving the pointer just slightly horizontally closes the menu.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install CopyQ or KeePassXC.
  2. Look at and try to use tray icon.

Expected behavior A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.

The tray icons should be padded adequately - as the other tray icons are.

Frequency Does the issue happen:

Edition (Desktop environment): In which edition is this happening?

Live or post-install: Indicate if this is happening after the installation, or during the live session:

Screenshots If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem.

Additional context Add any other context about the problem here. This sort of problem is bad for the user experience, especially given other problems the user can encounter. (Try getting e.g. a clipboard manager, or indeed a password manager, to work well on Linux Cinnamon. It is this sort of difficulty - I just want an app for X and there are three and none of them work - that drive people to other operating systems.) Possibly the icon problem is with the apps themselves but there has been an attempt Cinnamon-side to fix the problem before - and the problem may well be - though I am afraid I am not certain - a problem with Mint 19.3.
