System locked up completely #80

Describe the bug Just now the computer locked up completely. I had to 'raise elephants'. The computer was resuming from sleep - or, possibly, the screen was off but the computer was not suspended. The computer was doing little.

Crash report:

''Stack trace'' If you are reporting a crash. Go to "Software Sources" and enable the debug symbols [I did that; should it really prompt me to reload my apt cache?]. Then go to "System Reports" and extract the stack trace for your crash and paste it here.

I went to 'System Reports', saw the following, and was baffled.

''Dmesg'' If you type dmesg in a terminal, you should see a line corresponding to the crash. Paste it here.

I do not know how to extract the relevant line: so, I uploaded the whole output of `dmesg1 to pastebin.

Additional context Add any other context about the problem here.

The problem may be caused by some third-pary application - but if so, still, Cinnamon should not hang. The problem may have been caused by my Linux kernel (see below) but then again it may not have been.

OK, I think this might have been caused by a script of my own (and I was getting frustrated by lack of progress with various bugs in software . . not written by me). Apologies.
